Keeping Bali Island from Smaller Thing

Bali is one of small islands of Indonesia, it is known as “The Paradise Island” because of its play roles in the world as a tropical paradise of untold beautiful nature, idyllic mood and never ending fascination. Some of beautiful natures that are well-known and heard by people in the world are JatiLuwihTeracce Paddy, Uluwatu Temple, Ubud Monkey Forest, Sangeh Forest, Tanah Lot Temple and Kuta Beach. Those are some mainly destination that attract foreigners’ to come to Bali Island.
Furthermore,on the foreigners’ point of views, Bali also known as “The Island of Gods” because when foreigners come to Bali, they will spoiled by many ceremonies that celebrates by Balinese such as, wedding, “Odalan”, “Mapandes” and “Ngaben ceremony”. Here, foreigners’ will showed by their tolerance and solidarity from each other in Balinese atmosphere. Additionally, in the Balinese’s life, there are many worships colours every facet of life among Balinese in their daily activities. Finally, we know that Bali has many things that others island is not have it. Because, Bali has complete portion within. That is main reason, why Bali has higher visitors from other islands.

 As young Balinese, we should thing critically and creatively, how to protect Bali nature from any kind of ruination. We can start from small thing like reuse, reduce the rubbish by recycle one of many rubbish in our environment, such as recycle the bottle cap and unused clothes to beautiful thing like “Key Chain”. Because as good generations, we just not settle down with our crown, but take changes to make life better than before. Thus, to protect Bali nature, we cannot only start from biggest thing but also can start from small things, because small things will become biggest thing. Let’s try everything that can make our nature far away from damage. Because we are not life for today, but for thousand days. Let’s open your mind!

How to Make Key Chain from the Bottle Cap

Aim/Goal
Make a key chain from the cap is not hard, because it easy to find out it around us. Make the key chain from the bottle lead is useful because it can safe our environment and also it has economic value if we sell it.

Materials
Before make it, we need to prepare several things such as bottle cap, cardboard, fabric, beads, thread, needle, for the tools are scissor and glue gun. After all tools and material have been prepared, then begin to make it.

Steps
First, cut the cardboard into a circle shape. Make sure it just make small circle but bigger than the bottle cap. Second, cut the fabric to cover the cardboard that has been cut before and gluing it slowly. Third, cover the bottle cap using the same fabric and gluing it too. Fourth, stick the cardboard and the bottle cap together. Next, decorate it with the beads as much as you want to make it look pretty. Finally, sew the key chain by using the thread and needle.

Learning Objective

Time Allotment: 2 x 40 Minutes. This lesson is for teaching grade twelve in Senior High School at Second semester. In this lesson are emphasized for reading and writing skills. In reading activity, teacher used vocabulary focus. The students will focus on the vocabulary used in the text and also vocabulary related to the theme/topic of the text. Thus, they will know vocabulary of environment and also the steps how to make key chain. And of course, they will get new vocabulary during students read the text itself. If they do not understand of one particular word, automatically they will look the meaning in the dictionary. Moreover, to make sure the students read the text, there are some questions to check their understanding (vocabulary exercise). While for writing activities, the group used real writing (academic writing). After the students answer the questions from the text, the teacher give chance to the students to make their own essay. If the students find some difficulties in making essay, they can ask the teacher.
In the teaching and learning process, the teacher greets students friendly when he/she entering the classroom. The teacher invites them to pray together and also check their attendance. After that, teacher gives question of material previous meeting and material that will be discuss. And also teacher explains of the learning objective for the lesson.
Teacher explains about definition of essay, structure of essay, style of essay and how to make a good essay. After that, the teacher asks students’ understands it and deliver them essay. The teacher gives students time to read it carefully and answer the questions provided (vocabulary exercise). After time is up, teacher asks some students to read the essay randomly, identify the structure and ask of difficult words that they still do not understand. Later, the teacher asks students to present their answer. After all is complete, teacher gives students task to make an essay. The task should be submitted for the next meeting. And analyse by the teacher.
After that, teacher asks students understanding about the material and task. Teacher asks student’s difficulty. And the teacher concludes the material and praying together. Finally, teacher says greeting.

listening and speaking task

Time allotment: 2 x 45 minutes
Learning Objective
This video is about 3R (Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse) which explained by using genre of spoken discourse (procedure text) in the oral communicative skill, whereas in the types of listening activities is using extensive listening skill where the students can scan the information about how to make something beautiful or useful from rubbish. This is one way to maintain the environment from the effects of rubbish itself. Thus, in this video, blogger used “can” to make flower vase.  This video is intended for grade eleventh in the senior high school at second semester. That is emphasized for listening and speaking skills. Listening skill is obtained from the students listen about how to make a flower vase from the video given by teacher, and speaking skill is obtained from students making a craft refer to video.
First of all, in the teaching and learning process, the teacher greets student friendly, checks student’s attendance, and the teacher asks one students to be lead prayer. After that, the teacher asks about the previous lesson (brainstorming) that already learnt and the teacher gives questions relates to the material that will be discuss. Here, the teacher explains one of monologue text namely, procedure text. The teacher explains the definition, social function and language features of procedure text. After that, the teacher asks about their understanding. For the next activities, the teacher plays the video for two times and asks the students to scan the information within. And then, the teacher tells the students about the instructions related to the video clearly, and also he/she divides them into a group of five and tells them to make the craft refer to the video that will be shown in the following meeting in front of the class by using procedure text. The others students listen their friends carefully. All groups will have same chance to perform.
In the end of the teaching and learning process, the teacher asks about the student’s understanding about the procedure text and video. The teacher and the students conclude the lesson together. The teacher asks one student to be lead prayer and then says leave taking.
